Ever wonder where all the ideas begin and end?  At White Orchid Wedding our design team is always busy at work creating new and exciting ‘sets’ for our clients.

Our passion is to invent original designs that will certainly be different from your typical ‘white wedding’ – although we do this as well!  For this event, along with my amazing designer and rendering artist Jamie Clark, our concept was to create what we call our “Retro Hawaiian Wedding”.  We put our heads together and came up with a general idea of how the site would be best suited.  Jamie designed a base plan to scale including the existing structures, tenting options, landscaping, and lighting so there would be an accurate measure of what we had to work with.  The elements were also a factor in our planning including wind directions, shelter and sun direction.  The view from all angles certainly was another factor.  All ideas were coupled with the primary purpose of function – how best to utilize every inch of space for comfort, efficiency and effect.

Using a blank oceanfront garden, we decided to go bold with color using reds, oranges and citron green and neutralize the color with chocolate and bamboo. We first create our fabric pallate…

Next, we work up a few sketches to create the ‘total vision’…including lighting, furnishings, florals and set design.

And after that we assemble all the necessary elements, props, linens, lighting and furnishings to fulfill our vision… then with a LOT of help, direction and elbow grease…whalaa!

There you have it! Sounds simple…but let me tell you it takes a team to make this all happen and yet another team to install.  Our hats off  to Jamie Clark and her artistic mind and hand!  This simply could not be done without her oodles of talent!  You are simply the best my friend!!!
